Wednesday, January 6, 2010

I got this information from cnn.com and I just knew that Google wants to buy several companies for this year 2010.

  1. Twitter - the most popular social networking site in the world. Twitter has over 60 million users every month. Social network users may spend more time on social networking than on surfing. Google thinks that to use Twitter for their advertising partners.
  2. Digg - One of the social bookmarking site which displays the famous content-based submitted or shared by the users. Digg had become the popular social bookmarking site but according to cnn.com that Digg isn't that popular anymore because of facebook and twitter. Digg declined its unique visitors and users for about two months but it doesn't mean that this is the end. Google thinks of revitalize its brand and help get back its huge traffic.
  3. Jumptap - According to cnn = "Jumptap is a mobile advertising company that targets users with contextual ads." Analysts say that mobile phones could be the next frontier of advertising and web-browsing or surfing. Before it will happen, google will have to corner this to the market.
  4. Yelp - It is a business review site that users may give their opinions about restaurant, attractions and etc. It is a most successful company in the market. Yelp asked too much for about $500 deal, the last time Yelp pulled out the deal after the story leaked but Google will probably wins at the end.
  5. Cellfire - It is a digital coupon that lets users access coupon anytime through their mobile phones depending on their location. A deal will help google's advertising partners to bring their marketing tools and strategies in the market.
  6. Yandex - they say "The google of Russia" is the largest internet and popular search web site in Russia. Like "Baidu" in China, google still wants to be part in the Russian country.
