Google.cn will be shutting down

In Mid december, google detected an attack which was originated from China. This attack was not just on google. During the investigation, they found out that other 20 big companies including the internet, finance, technology, media and chemical sectors- were also the target of the attackers. Google is now in the process of telling those big companies of the attack.

Google found out that the attackers want to access the Gmail account of Chinese human rights activists but based on their investigation, google concluded that the attackers did not meet their objective. According to google that only two gmail account to have been accessed but that only have limited account information such as the account created.

Google said that they found out the US, China, and Europe-based gmail accounts are the supportors of Chinese human rights activists. Their account have been accessed usually through phishing, scams and other malware programs.

In this way, google may be pulling out the google.cn because of the incident.

Google also gave an advice to install reliable anti-virus software programs to protect against phishing, scams and malicious viruses to protect your identities.

Microsoft to launch a touch screen tablet computer

The rumors spread from the Consumer Electronics Show, the largest consumer tech trade show of the year that Microsoft will beat Apple by introducing the touch-screen "tablet" computer, cnn.com reported.

What is a tablet computer?
A lot of computer industry have different expectations about a Tablet.
Some say that it's a touch sensitive screen. Others say that it must be fit somewhere in the phone or in the laptop as a tablet.

Some say that it has a no keyboard at all leaving a touch screen device.

Microsoft CEO Ballmer introduces this new technology at CES as to beat Apple.

Companies that google wants to buy for the year 2010

I got this information from cnn.com and I just knew that Google wants to buy several companies for this year 2010.

  1. Twitter - the most popular social networking site in the world. Twitter has over 60 million users every month. Social network users may spend more time on social networking than on surfing. Google thinks that to use Twitter for their advertising partners.
  2. Digg - One of the social bookmarking site which displays the famous content-based submitted or shared by the users. Digg had become the popular social bookmarking site but according to cnn.com that Digg isn't that popular anymore because of facebook and twitter. Digg declined its unique visitors and users for about two months but it doesn't mean that this is the end. Google thinks of revitalize its brand and help get back its huge traffic.
  3. Jumptap - According to cnn = "Jumptap is a mobile advertising company that targets users with contextual ads." Analysts say that mobile phones could be the next frontier of advertising and web-browsing or surfing. Before it will happen, google will have to corner this to the market.
  4. Yelp - It is a business review site that users may give their opinions about restaurant, attractions and etc. It is a most successful company in the market. Yelp asked too much for about $500 deal, the last time Yelp pulled out the deal after the story leaked but Google will probably wins at the end.
  5. Cellfire - It is a digital coupon that lets users access coupon anytime through their mobile phones depending on their location. A deal will help google's advertising partners to bring their marketing tools and strategies in the market.
  6. Yandex - they say "The google of Russia" is the largest internet and popular search web site in Russia. Like "Baidu" in China, google still wants to be part in the Russian country.
